There used to be a forest, vast and expansive
And all over creation wild animals could live
Thousands of the trees swaying in the wind
Tree roots anchored in the ground, planted firmly

The era of the plundering, the forest disapeared
Just a single tree remained, one solitary beech
Windbeaten and forgotten tardily grew up
The tree trunk massive and robust, patulous treetop

The monument of the olden times words can´t describe
The old tree standing there and still alive...
