The punk-rock band HAJ HOU was formed in the town of Chomutov on 1st May 1987, which means that they have been on the stage together (with shorter and longer breaks and changes in the ensemble) for 26 years. The band´s philosophy is based on purely Czech kind of intellectual punk-rock, which (unlike the classical British one preferring social and community issues) points out especially the irony, grotesque slapstick and persiflage. The name of the band – HAJ HOU – refers to the sci-fi novel by American writer Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. – Slapstick or Lonesome No More!
The current band lineup since the summer of 2013:
Karel Rada - founder , frontman, co-author of music and sole author of texts; Miroslav Halaš - guitar, author of some (most recent) songs ; Pavel Hypš – drums; Stephen " Pipa" Skalicky - bass (on autumn 2013 Míra "Wasp" Vosička); Milena "Mata Hari" Dolečková - dance, vocals, performance.
