4BY6 is a guitar-free groove-metal trio from Brno, Czech Republic, formed during the 2020 lockdown.
The band forges its own path with guitar-less live shows and a sound that prizes raw impact and groove above everything else. On record, 4BY6 does use guitars—tracked in-house
to sculpt wide, layered walls.
On stage, however, they perform as a trio: drums + bass + vocals, with zero backing tracks and no guitars.
Songs are re-arranged for the live set so the pedalboard-driven bass carries both riffs and harmony, locking into broken, unconventional rhythms with precise, hard-hitting drums. The
result is a dense, uncompromising wall of sound that’s brutal and groove-forward.
Vocals are a volatile mix—growls, screams, harsh grit, and clean lines—adding both character and emotional weight.
The band keeps pushing forward, experimenting with tone, texture, and form while dodging paint-by-numbers structures.
Instead of just verses and choruses, many tracks unfold as complete sonic journeys, loaded with dynamic shifts and left turns. Lyrically, 4BY6 explore social critique,
philosophy, and dark imagery. For fans of Pantera, Fear Factory, Lamb of God, and Gojira, this is modern groove metal with a twist: one of the few bands delivering a guitar-less live experience—no backing tracks, no filler, all pressure. Band
